The Acanthus pattern comes from Ancient Greece and Roman architecture. Acanthus leaves appear with decorative cornices which consist of different designs. This cornice is much longer on the ceiling than on the wall. It ends with a pattern on the ceiling. It extends the cornice on the ceiling even more. Cornices Centre Range.
